Town of Badin Ordinance 02-5

AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE 95-2 PROHIBITING PARKING ON A PORTION OF ROOSEVELT STREET

WHEREAS, the Badin Town Council of the Town of Badin deems it in the best interest of the health and safety of the citizens of Badin to allow parking from the corner of Roosevelt and Jackson 100 ft. North on the West side of Roosevelt, and;

WHEREAS, the Badin Town Council deems it necessary to allow parking from the corner of Roosevelt and Alcoa Construction Entrance South 75 ft. on the East side of Roosevelt, and;

WHEREAS, the Badin Town Council also deems it necessary to allow parking with restrictions, from the south corner of the intersection of Sumpter and Roosevelt Streets to the southern end of the commercial block anchored by 507 Roosevelt Street. The restrictions include allowance for no more than seven, eight-foot-wide, fifteen-feet long, diagonal parking spaces in front of the commercial block. The first parking space shall be placed no closer than fifteen feet from the south corner of the intersection of Sumpter and Roosevelt Streets. The last parking space shall be placed no closer than ten feet from the southern end of the commercial block. One of the parking spaces shall be designated for handicap parking only, and;

WHEREAS, the Badin Town Council also deems it necessary to prohibit all other parking on the East side of Roosevelt Street and all traffic islands in between from the corner of Washington and Roosevelt traveling South to the corner of Grant and Roosevelt, now;

BE IT THEREFORE ORDAINED by the Badin Town Council of the Town of Badin.
