Town of Badin Ordinance 96-5

AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING HORSES ON SIDEWALKS

WHEREAS, the Town Council of the Town of Badin deems it to be in the best interest of the health and safety of the citizens of Badin to prohibit horses on public sidewalks within the Town of Badin; 

THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Badin Town Council as follows:

Section 1: It shall be unlawful for any person having custody of a horse to allow or permit said horse to enter or remain upon any public sidewalk within the municipal limits of the Town of Badin.

Section 2: The terms "person having custody of a horse" shall be deemed to include any person riding, guiding or leading a horse, any owner or other person having permanent or temporary custody of a horse, any person into whose custody a horse has been placed, or any person having control of a horse.

Section 3: Violation of this Ordinance shall constitute a misdemeanor and shall be punishable by a fine of up to $50.00. Each violation shall constitute a separate offense.

Section 4: This Ordinance shall be effective upon passage.

This Ordinance was duly passed by the Badin Town Council on the 12th day of November, 1996.
